Welcome to Belchamps
Looking for something different for your next venture? Belchamps Scout Activity Centre offers fantastic camping set in beautiful Essex countryside, high quality indoor accommodation and a large range of activities for young people of all ages. Whether you are looking for a full residential experience or just a day visit, our instructors will ensure that your event is safe, excellent value for money and full of fun.

Scouting is the largest co-educational youth organisation in the United Kingdom. It has been successful for 100 years now in teaching communication skills, decision making, teamwork, leadership and personal development. Participants follow our philosophy of “learning by doing” and our qualified staff work directly with groups of between 10 and 12 participants to achieve positive learning outcomes. It is our aim to make the experience fun, interesting and as exciting as possible.

How to book
Telephone or e-mail a provisional booking.
Confirm the booking within 4 weeks by sending a 10% deposit
Any cancellations should be received in writing by post or e-mail as soon as possible in order to minimise cancellation fees. Please refer to terms and conditions. Camps must be paid for in full before leaving the site. We accept cash, cheque or debit card.
Special Needs
Please advise at the time of booking should any members of your party have special needs as every effort will be made to assist you.

Safety is paramount in all we do. Risk assessments are available for all activities. All staff go through an enhanced CRB check and hold a first response first aid qualification and also the relevant qualification in their field of expertise as appropriate. All staff are carefully selected and experienced in dealing with young people.
DAY VISITS
Available for those who just want to use the camp site for their own activities—£2 per head
ACTIVITY DAYS
Option 1. Four activities, three of which you supervise and an additional activity we provide an instructor for. Cost: £10 per head
A typical day begins with an introduction on arrival at 10am, followed by :
- 10.15 Assault Course
- 11.15 Archery
- 12.15 Break for lunch (you provide, or can be provided at a cost of £5 per head)
- 12.45 Pedal Karts
- 13.45 Traversing Wall
Or opt for a half day programme with just 2 activities at £5 per head
Option 2. Four activities with all activities fully instructed. Cost: £15 per head
A typical day begins with an introduction on arrival at 10am, followed by :
- 10.15 Crate stacking
- 11.45 Archery
- 12.45 Break for lunch (you provide, or can be provided at a cost of £5 per head)
- 13.45 Rifle Shooting
- 14.45 Fire lighting and simple cooking over a fire
Or opt for a half day programme of two fully instructed activities at £7 per head.
Please note, minimum Group sizes 10. Lunch can be provided for £5 per person on any activity day option
RESIDENTIALS
Our residential activity programmes start at £35 per head for 24 hours fully catered. We can accommodate up to 120 in 3 buildings.
- 48 hours fully catered £70 per head
- 72 hours fully catered £100 per head
- 96 hours fully catered £130 per head
A typical day begins at 8am with breakfast followed by :
- 9.00 Climbing
- 11.00 Team Building and Problem Solving Exercises
- 12.30 Lunch

- 18.00 Dinner
- 20.00 Campfire
